Hey, I'm Klara
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Berlin, Germany.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Germany wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The first few months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more tedious than they should.
The Transition Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of hands-on learning. But gradually, routines formed. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began shaping something that felt steady.
What Inspired Pilot Canvas Grove
Most online information fell into either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Germany.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- An official tourism authority resource
- Paid-review platform
- An ordinary travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Germany goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I'll continue documenting what we learn.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Klara
